Sadie, our youngest of the Anatolian Shepherds, just turned 10 months old. She has taken on a little kid who was born prematurely on Saturday. The doe had abandoned a set of twins as they were born in the night. The smallest twin never could hold body temperature and died within the first day. The other little fellow is hanging on and has become Sadie's project.

unbelievably sweet.
ReplyDeletethanks for documenting the ins and outs of your farm - my daughter and I enjoy reading all about it!
Thanks - it is moments like these that make the sadder things so bearable. I think as long as Sadie doesn't lick the little fellow to death all will be good.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gentle 'adoptive Mama' Sadie is!
ReplyDeleteI just love these photos, Deb!! XXO-
